The Worship Arts class at BCHS is a class that teaches students to lead worship. In a recent brainstorming session, we wanted to make a bigger impact beyond the walls of our campus. With the abundance of talent in our class, we wanted to reach out to the entire city of Bakersfield seeking to bring the entire community together to worship God our creator. We decided to put on a Worship Concert on our football field in May of 2019. It was a great success and it bred additional ideas on how to reach the city of Bakersfield.
Why stop at just one night? With the success of our first event, we wanted to ride the momentum and create a movement. With God's help, we are working towards the idea of regularly meeting together bringing the city of Bakersfield together for corporate worship. In addition, since this is a class of students learning how to worship, we are developing a training program that teaches all youth from all schools how to lead worship in their youth groups and churches. We bring professional worship leaders in to train youth worship leaders in a practical, hands on environment. We then place some of these students on stage at our WorshipBakersfield events drawing attention back to our youth training.
We want to glorify God not only in our worship, but we want to make a difference beyond music. We want to serve the community of Bakersfield. That is why we are working to benefit several ministries around town. Each of our events benefits these ministries by donating and raising awareness of these great ministries.
We have done several other events around the City of Bakersfield and we are planning many more. If you would like us to do a concert at your church, reach out to us and we will come to you. We can also arrange a training session for your church or youth group.
The Worship Arts Class is once again thriving and it has grown
to entirely new levels. There are 30 people in this year's class
and we are trying things that have never been done before in
chapel at BCHS. The worship that is coming from the platform
is the best as its ever been. We are unified and intent on bringing
God all the glory and seeing His name lifted up.
Our goal is to include as many people as we can on the platform
at BCHS. The response this year has been truly amazing as there
are so many people that want to be a part of this program. At first it was overwhelming but then we realized we needed to add a choir.
What a blessing this has been! This has created so much energy that is contagious to the student body at BCHS. We raise our voice to the King of Kings!
